I'm a storyteller with nothing but the most unrealistic of ambitions. Why, you may ask? Because the best stories are often the ones that tell of the most unlikely things occurring. So as a storyteller, why should I settle for realistic when the unrealistic are dreams I can always aspire to, all the while never ceasing to climb the ladder of improvement on my way there?
For me, that dream is the "Revenant Project". A series of cross-genre books and short stories I started in 2004 with the aim to create an intercontinental, historical, mythological, fantasy that directly connects the historical and mythological past and present with intertwining and connecting storylines through all ages while still telling, like a puzzle, the same larger story in both smaller self contained stories and larger overarching epics.
Otherwise I have always believed art is made from the soul, and therefore I also believe it should always be made out of emotional attachment rather than out of a simple wish to make money.
I also hate clishés because a clishé is evidence of someone failing to make someone else's idea their own. A clishé is in simple terms a plot twist everyone already knows, meaning everyone expect it to happen again... so why are there so few geniuses willing to let people think they know what's going to happen only to betray their expectations with the unexpected? People always love a well thought out twist, so why not give people what they want rather than let them whine about predictability?
